His son Ralf Kersting joined the company on 1 October 1996. He was previously the company's authorised signatory, a position which he had held under his father's auspices for over three years. During this time, he increased the business' focus on export.
As the managing partner, he has been responsible for the Olsberg Group's fortunes at its locations in Olsberg, Brilon, Königshütte, Tatabanya and Miskolz in Hungary as well as in Tokyo, Sendai and Sapporo in Japan since 31 March 2000.
Following comprehensive restructuring measures, the company today concentrates on industrial products made of cast iron and steel sheet, heating and ventilation equipment as well as heat generation from renewable energy sources (split logs and pellets). Olsberg is the global leader in wood burners that do not depend on the use of air in the rooms in which they are located.
Like his father, Edward, Ralf Kersting is involved in associations and institutions important to the German economy.
He was, for instance, elected president of the Arnsberg chamber of industry and commerce in 2008.
Ralf Kersting is married and has a son and two daughters.
The company is to this day owned by the three families of old ... Brüning / Kerle, Everken and Kersting.
