Industrial mechanic (m/f), specialising in maintenance

Duration: 3.5 years

Industrial mechanics (m/f) specialising in maintenance are qualified to carry out activities in the field of maintenance and the restoration of the operational readiness of machines and production systems. Their tasks include the inspection, maintenance and repair of machines and systems as well as the adaptation of operating facilities. In this work, they disassemble and assemble parts and component groups under maintenance conditions, localise errors, eliminate malfunctions and effect the re-commissioning of machines and equipment following the function checks they've carried out. Practical training includes:

  • The working of metals and plastics, manually and by machine
  • The operation of tool machines; the determination and setting of machine values
  • Welding and soldering
  • Checking, setting, repairing and maintenance of production systems
  • Building of machines, equipment and component groups
  • The creation and checking of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and electronic components used in control engineering
  • Planning of work sequences
  • Occupational safety and environmental protection

Application requirements:

Certificate of Secondary Education or Specialised Certificate of Secondary Education
